What is the STARS Student Executive Council (SEC)?

This is a student leadership group that helps to implement the STARS program at their school. Members must be committed to being positive role models for their peers by being tobacco, alcohol, drug and violence free as well as maintaining passing grades in all subjects.

What is a CORE team?

STARS could not exist in the school without help and is fortunate to have a group of dedicated staff within this school that assist us with keeping our program active.  The Core Team receives training opportunities, works to keep a private, confidential STARS office within the school, assist with small groups and supports the goals and objectives of the STARS program.  The Core Team consists of people that you see here every day that go that extra mile.

Do You Need Volunteer Hours?

If so, the Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is a program you may be interested in.  United Way has opportunities that allow students to volunteer their time to non-profit organizations and an opportunity to raise awareness about these programs as well as money for local charities.

If you are interested in this program, please see Julieanna Huddle, the BHS STARS Specialist, and she will provide more information.

About Julieanna

Julieanna graduated from Ohio University where she majored in Psychology with a minor in Deaf Studies and Interpreting. She has had the privilege to work in the youth development/alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention field for the past five years.  During that time, she had the opportunity to work with some of the most amazing youth through classroom presentations, peer prevention activities, and awareness programs.

Julieanna is excited for the opportunity to collaborate with the faculty and staff at Brentwood High to continue helping, educating and empowering BHS students to reach for a brighter, drug-free future.
