                                                                   Theatre Arts                                                      

Theatre Arts I
Grade Level: 9th thru 12th 
Credit:  1 (full-year)
Theater Arts I is an overview of all facets of theater with the intent to develop a general knowledge of theater history, literature, and technical theater.  The first semester is mainly textbook reading and classroom work.  The second semester begins more involvement in theatre through individual and group performances.

Theatre Arts II
Grade Level: 10th thru 12th 
Credit:  1 (full-year)
Successful completion of Theatre Arts I
Theatre Arts II is designed for the serious theatre student.  Skills acquired in Theater Arts I will be expanded and strengthened.  The course is heavily production and performance-based, though play analysis is strongly emphasized.

 

 

 

Theatre Arts III
Grade Level: 11th and 12th  
Credit:  1 (full-year)
Successful completion of Theatre Arts II and  Audition with
Teacher Recommendation
This course is designed for advanced students to polish their theater specialty, such as technical theater, movement, acting, directing, or play-writing.  Theatre Arts III is heavily production and performance based, though play analysis is strongly emphasized.  Auditions are required for entrance into this course.

Theatre Arts IV
Grade Level: 12th
Credit:  1 (full-year)
Successful completion of Theatre Arts III and
Teacher Recommendation                      
The Theatre Arts IV student is headed toward a post secondary study in the performing arts.  The student will study all facets of theater on a level which will prepare him/her for college or professional work.  Areas of intense training include analysis, design, acting, directing, and any particular area of study the student values.
