"Most people who haven't had a death of someone very close to them don't realize that it never goes away. They talk about nonsensical things like closure and healing, but what people are coming to realize is that when someone close to you dies, one of the stars you steer by falls from your firmament. If 9/11 has taught us anything, it is about the continuity of loss and how things are ALWAYS different after death." Dr. Sherwin B. Nuland A Christmas tree will be placed by the Outdoor Classroom on December 22 at Noon. You are invited to come and bring an ornament for your child or loved one to be remembered this year in a special way and in a special place. There will be no speakers, nothing but peace and people to connect with if you wish. If you just want to come and sit, that's fine. We'll just take each moment as it comes. I know I need a place to be me, safe to feel and not isolated for at least 3 hours this season. Please bring an ornament to place on the tree to remember your special person. If you bring an ornament that you trust to be stored with me until next Christmas, we will place them on the tree first next year and keep adding each year. You will be given the opportunity to hang your ornament again next year if you wish and add one. There will also be furnished by Joann satin balls and a pin to write a message to your loved one. If it's cold bring a blanket and dress warm. Hope to see you, Janie |
