The Bird in the Wind
This story is about Mildred Burns, a lonely, lost 16 year old girl. Her parents died in a house fire when she was 5 and has been living with friends since then. Our story begins in the 1930's when Millie gets a letter from her soon to be fiance, Nathaniel. It turns out it is not her beloved, but sure enough, about him. He was killed by an unknown influenza. Up until then she had been dreaming about the rest of her life, but now all of that is ruined. Millie goes into a deep depression. When school comes around again, Millie has been currently living with her friend Lily, who is REALLY into guys. A guy at school, Charles Keith, seems to take a liking towards Millie. Charles starts to follow Millie and hang out with her. She ignores the fact and just hangs out with him. Finally, Millie and Charles start to date. One day while they're just hanging out Charles tells Millie he's a vampire. Millie's shocked at what else he tells her. There's a guy after her named Jameson. He's also a vampire, but Charles doesn't exactly know why he's after Millie. Charles thinks it's safer for Millie to stay with he and his family. That's where Marie, Zachary, Jess, Peter, David, and Renee come in. Marie, is Charles's little sister, who is sixteen. Marie is VERY perfect and precise about everything. Zachary is Marie's husband, he's very quiet. Jess is Charles's other sister who is not really fond of Millie. Peter is married to Jess. David and Renee are the parents. A little girl shows up named Esmerelda. She's a child, frozen at five years old for the rest of her life. Sam, is Millie's best friend. Carter is her fiance. During Christmas time Sam announces that she and Carter are getting married. While Sam and Carter are on their honeymoon, Sam gets pregnant. Two months pass and Sam comes to visit. Charles and his family are worried about Sam and decide to leave, afraid that Sam will die. Charles took Esmerelda with them. When Sam has her child, it's a girl like Esmerelda just frozen at three instead of five. Sam decides to name her Felicity. A couple of weeks after this Charles and his family come back, when they see that Sam is alive they are shocked. Esmerelda decides she'd like to be Charles and Millie's daughter. At the Duflout's ball, which is a ball Lily holds EVERY year. Lily has found a new beau. His name is Jon. At the ball, Charles proposes to Millie, and what can she do with hundreds of people around, but say yes. They are set to be wed in the spring. A shocking thing hapens at the wedding. Jameson crashes it, while everyone's there. Jameson planned on shooting Millie, during the ceremony, but doesn't succeed. Jameson grabs Felicity and starts to drag her away. Esmerelda grabs on to Lissie's other arm and trys to pull her back. Jameson kicks Esmerelda to the ground. Finally, Jameson shoots Felcity and she stops moving. He runs off with his gang and girlfriend, feeling satisfied for now.
