PTO is bursting with some wonderful,
exciting events to share with you. First, I
would like to say a big thank you to Sally
McLaughlin for putting together the
songwriter’s night, which was held on
Valentine’s night. It was a wonderful night
full of incredible talent, scrumptious
desserts and excellent company. Sally put in
many hours and hard work to make this
happen. Furthermore, I want to thank our
songwriting dads, Pat McLauglin, Ed Hill,
and Casey Beathard. The money raised will go
to a piece of technology for our classrooms.
I also want to share a BIG event that will
take place March 13. The country music
group, LONESTAR, has offered to have a
benefit concert for Hillsboro PTO!!! The
concert will be held in our gym. We will
have a silent auction, Lonestar/ Hillsboro
t-shirts to sell and concessions with BBQ
and much more. We will have ticket
information and more details coming in
Tuesday folders. We are looking for
corporate sponsors for this event. With each
donation to Hillsboro School, the corporate
sponsor’s name will be placed on the back of
a tshirt and free concert tickets will be
given. Another event we are working on is
our Walk-a-thon, which will be held on April
25. A special thank you to Jacke Shardon and
Kim Sams for helping the PTO board plan this
event. Each child will receive a free walk-athon
t-shirt, which will again include corporate
sponsor’s names on the back (Corporate
sponsors needed for the Walka- thon as well
as the concert). Money made by the Walk-athon
and the Lonestar concert will go to
purchasing needs for our school. I’m sure
you will agree with me that Hillsboro has
some exciting things ahead! Please feel free
