Issue 1 - August 3, 2006

It's that time again! We'd like
to welcome you to the 2006-2007 school year, and the first issue
of IN FOCUS. This week's newsletter will provide
you all the vital information you need to know as classes get
ready to start. You can find links to each section on the
left side of this page.
More than 27,000 students are expected to attend Williamson
County Schools for the 2006-07 school year with the first
day a half day on Monday, August 14. The first full
day for students will be Tuesday, August 15. For a complete
calendar, click on the
DISTRICT CALENDAR section
on the bottom left portion of the page.
Students will be served at 36 school sites: 20
elementary schools, one kindergarten through eighth grade
school, seven middle schools and eight high schools. A
new elementary school is being constructed to serve students
in the Southern part of the county, and a new school is
being to built to replace Nolensville Elementary and to
serve more students in that area. Those schools are
scheduled to open with the 2007-08 school year. Check
out the NEW PLACES
portion of the newsletter for further information on school
construction and progress.
This first newsletter features only back to school
information. In the future, IN FOCUS will
dive deeper into the heart of our schools, taking a closer look
at what's going on inside the classroom. We will feature
all the great things happening with our students, teachers, and
staff. You, as parents and community members, are
encouraged to provide us with feedback and input as to what you
think. This newsletter will come out
every other Thursday. Also, please spread the word about
IN FOCUS to your friends, family, and anyone else who may be
interested. You can sign up to receive IN FOCUS by

We look forward to providing you with all the good news
coming out of Williamson County Schools! Here's to a great
2006-2007!
