WILLIAMSON COUNTY SCHOOLS
REZONING VOTE JANUARY 29

A separate Williamson County Board of Education work session and special called meeting will be held to establish zone lines for two new elementary schools and to adjust zone lines for some high schools.

According to Board Chairman Gary Anderson, the School Board will hold its work session regarding zoning on Monday, January 22 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Administrative Complex Auditorium.  The Board will then vote on the zone lines when it meets in special session on Monday, January 29 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Administrative Complex Auditorium.  The special called meeting will be televised on WC-TV, Comcast 3 and Charter 96.

The Board will still hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, January 16.

“When the School Board has an item on the agenda such as zoning, it can detract from the other items on the agenda,” said Anderson. “I feel we need to devote our full attention to every item and by holding separate meetings in January, we can make sure we take the time necessary to carefully consider all issues.”

In addition, Anderson said that the district does not usually televise special called meetings due to budget constraints but is able to do so this month since the Board did not meet in July or December.
