HILLSBORO SIXTH GRADERS
MUMMIFY CHICKENS

Students in Ellen James' sixth grade class at Hillsboro School recently got a hands on lesson in one of the more well-known aspects of ancient Egypt.  The students used store bought chickens to create their own mummies.  Over a 40 day period, the students cleaned, dried, and embalmed their chickens.  They also created sarcophaguses and gave their chickens a life story!
