Some of Williamson County
Schools' best and brightest students gathered at the Embassy
Suites in Cool Springs April 10 for the annual Academic
Excellence Banquet. This ceremony honors the Top Ten
students from each high school senior class. In addition,
thirteen $1,000 scholarships donated by local businesses and
community members were given to students whose names were
randomly drawn during the evening.
National Merit finalists were
also recognized. Students and parents recognized at the
Academic Excellence Banquet are listed below, along with this
year's scholarship winners and National Merit finalists.

Finalists and one Semi National Finalist this year. From
Brentwood High the students were Brad Black; Eric Ford, David
and Lesley Ford; Jane Hettinger; Julie Hughes; Nicola Klein,
Bruce and Sherry Klein; Ashley McCoy; Andrew Mitchell, Bart and
Loretta Mitchell. Independence High had one semi-finalist, Ira
Kaplan, Samuel Kaplan and Judy Ozbol and one finalist, Mary
Alisa Techentin, Henry and Debra Techentin. Jose Mena was the
finalist from Page High. Students from Ravenwood High included
