IN THIS ISSUE...
Autumn is
finally here and the first quarter grading period will soon
come to an end. Students have plenty to be excited about
these days. In addition to all the homecoming events and
festivals, Fall Break is only a few weeks away. Students
will have Monday, October 19 and Tuesday, October 20 off,
giving both them and their teachers a well-deserved break.
This issue
of IN FOCUS features a total of four videos.
In the first one, we'll take you to Grassland Elementary
School for a special occasion dedicated to
GRANDPARENTS.
Plus, travel back in time as the students at Walnut Grove
learn all about history with an annual event known as
MEDIEVAL DAY. See performances from each
Williamson County high school marching band at the
district's annual
WCS BAND EXHIBITION. And find
out what's happening in the world of Williamson County
athletics with the
WCS SPORTS REPORT.
In other
news happening around the district, the district's new
DIRECTOR OF SCHOOLS makes it official. Also this week,
information for people interested in being a part of this
year's World of Possibilities CAREER FAIR, and
Franklin High School prepares to celebrate a
SPECIAL
MILESTONE. What names would you give to the
county's newest elementary schools? The
School Board would like to know, so be sure and
SUBMIT
YOUR IDEAS before it's too late.
Are you
looking for something to do? You'll find several
upcoming performances listed in the
MUSIC/THEATRE
section including Ravenwood's production of Shakespeare's
A Midsummer's Night Dream. Plus, get a glimpse of life
inside the classroom with our PHOTO GALLERY. Inside,
you'll find snapshots of students and teachers from schools
across the county. And a local student scores a
perfect 36 on the ACT exam. Find out who he is in our
STUDENT SPOTLIGHT.
