WALK ACROSS WILLIAMSON

If you are looking for a fun, healthy way to spend time with your family, then we have just the thing for you.  It's called Walk Across Williamson and it's a great way to get off to a healthy start in 2009.

Here's how it works: participants gather on the first Saturday for the months of February, March and April between 9-10 a.m. at one of the five participating parks in Williamson County.  Those parks are Bowie Nature, College Grove, Nolensville, Pinkerton and Thompson's Station.

Once they arrive, participants will check in at the Walk Across Williamson table to pick up a walking log.  The walking log should be used throughout the month to record the number of minutes each participant has spent walking.  The logs will then be turned in at the end of the month for the opportunity to win prizes.

On April 18, there will be a celebration gathering at Pinkerton Park in Franklin from 9-10 a.m.  The celebration will include special guests and prizes.  These prizes will be awarded in both individual and family categories based on the number of minutes walked in each month.

Best of all, Walk Across Williamson is free and open to people of all ages and fitness levels.
