LONGVIEW TO HOST REPTILE EXPO

|

Two students at
Longview check out one of the school's many pet
lizards. |
Plans are
underway for a rather unique fundraiser at Longview Elementary
School in Spring Hill. On May 2 and 3, Longview will host the first
annual Put Education First Reptile & Local Business Expo.
This two day event, which will be held in the school's
gymnasium, will showcase reptile and exotic pet
breeders from around the country. In addition to all
the snakes, lizards and turtles, the expo will also feature
dozens of local businesses from Spring Hill. |
|
Longview Principal Dr.
Jonathan Ullrich says it makes sense that Longview would
host a reptile expo, considering the school's mascot is a
lizard. "This is like Centennial High School's Craft Fair,
except with lizards," says Ullrich. "We are very
excited. It's a great way for us to raise funds for
the school without taxing the community."
Admission to the expo is $5,
but the event is
free for all Williamson County students. They just
need to bring a report card or some other form of
identification that proves they are a student. A
barbecue dinner will be provided Saturday night for those
attending. All of the proceeds
from the event will go directly toward educating students at
Longview Elementary School. |
