TCAP TESTING

Parents, mark these dates on your calendar: April 14 through 18.  That is the week students in grades two through eight will be given the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program Achievement Test, also known as TCAP.  The test is a timed, multiple choice assessment that measures skills in reading, language arts, mathematics, science and social studies.

There are some things students can begin doing now to prepare themselves for the tests:

  • Maintain good study habits: do your class work.

  • Review homework and materials which pertain to test topics.

  • Make a study schedule and follow it.

  • Practice resources and sample questions are available at  www.internet4classrooms.com.

  • See teachers for additional help.

For more information regarding the TCAP Test, you ca go to the state website by clicking on http://www.state.tn.us/education/assessment/.
