ISSUE 16
April 10, 2008
IN THIS ISSUE...

We have
four new videos for you to check out this week. The
first one takes you to Downtown Franklin where dozens of
high school students are volunteering their free time to
build a home for
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY. Next up,
travel to Nashville for the annual
STUDENT TELEVISION
AWARDS. Let's just say Williamson County students
walked away with a lot of hardware. Plus, we'll show
you how the parents of some future kindergarteners are
getting them
READY FOR SCHOOL, and follow along as we
surprise the secretaries and bookkeepers at two more schools
with a LUXURY LIMO LUNCH.
It's
TCAP TIME in Tennessee.
The annual exam for students in grades two through eight
will be administered April 14-18 in Williamson County. If you need
to do some shopping, you might want to hold off a few weeks.
Tennessee will have another SALES
TAX HOLIDAY later this month. Plus, find out
why Williamson County Schools is among the best around when
it comes to keeping students
SAFE ONLINE, and Franklin High School tops a recent
list of the BEST HIGH SCHOOLS
in Middle Tennessee. Some of the other stories you'll
find in this issue of IN FOCUS include details
about an upcoming CAMP FOR GIRLS,
and a local student whose creativity recently won him a
NATIONAL AWARD.
Find out which schools performed the best during a recent
ACTIVITY CONTEST.
Be sure and
check out our MUSIC/THEATER
section for a list of musicals and other performances.
Plus, Scales Elementary School is preparing to hold its
first annual Golf Tournament at Temple Hills. Find out
how you can get involved by going to our
FUNDRAISER section.
Also, we have some amazing new works of art featured in our
STUDENT ART section, and
you'll find lots of smiling faces in our
PHOTO GALLERY.
As always,
be sure to encourage others to
SIGN UP
for IN FOCUS. We want everyone to know
what's going on in Williamson County Schools. Feel
free to EMAIL US with
any questions or comments. The next IN FOCUS
