GIRLS TEC CAMP REGISTRATION

 |
Female
students entering eighth grade next school year can explore
a wide variety of career opportunities at the 2008 Girls
TEC Camp. The camp, which will be held June 9-13 at
Centennial High School, is a fun way for students to learn
about career opportunities in the fields of science and
technology. During the five days, the girls will plan
and complete a variety of projects within selected
technology curriculum, participate in problem-solving
activities |

and
hear from dynamic women in non-traditional careers
such as drafting, media production and marketing.
Centennial High School Drafting Teacher
Tim Sawyer is one of the camp instructors. He says the
camp is helpful for students who aren't sure what they want
to study in high school and college. "We take them
into some of the non-traditional career and tech classes,"
says Sawyer. "Classes that girls sometimes don't sign
up for." |

Female
students who
would like to learn more about networking, communications,
engineering, architecture, biotechnology, law, tourism and other fast-growing, high-paying technology
fields are encouraged to sign up for this exciting
opportunity. The cost is $50 which includes a daily
lunch, a t-shirt and other perks. Space is limited and
reservations will be held according to the date the
application is received. The deadline for applications
