A familiar face graces the cover of the July 2008 issue of The Instrumentalist. Brentwood High School Band Director Randy Box is featured in the magazine's cover story. The Instrumentalist is recognized among band and orchestra educators as one of the best sources for information pertaining to instrumental music education. "It is a tremendous honor to be profiled in a magazine such as The Instrumentalist," says Box. "It is also a very humbling experience to know that I am featured on the cover of a magazine that has profiled so many of the greatest conductors and teachers in the field, individuals that I have looked up to in the profession."

Box says the publication became interested in the school's band program following the 2007 Country Music Association Awards. During that awards ceremony, members of the Brentwood marching band performed with country music star Brad Paisley for a song called Online. In the article, Box explains how that performance came to be. He also describes the different activities and competitions the band participates in each year, as well as the schedule for a typical marching rehearsal.

"Our band program at Brentwood High School has been very fortunate to be afforded a number of opportunities to excel," says Box. "Receiving this national recognition is directly related to the outstanding support we have from our community and administration."
