Dozens of newly-hired employees were introduced to
the Williamson County school district June 10.
The educators gathered at the
central office for the first New Teacher Orientation
of
the upcoming school year.
The experience gives
new employees a chance to learn about everything
from health insurance to risk management. "The
new teachers attend the four hour orientation to
learn about important district policies," says Human
Resource Director Judith Looney.
"Additionally, they spend time learning about rights
and benefits, and meeting with
members of the WCS
Payroll staff." |

Sara Rothlisberger was among the new teachers at the
June 10 meeting. This fall, she will begin her
first year as a full-time English teacher at
Independence High School. "I am super
excited," says Rothlisberger. "I'm starting to
get a little nervous but mostly I'm excited about
meeting the students." Rothlisberger says she
found the New Teacher Orientation to be very
helpful. "We went over everything we need
to know," says Rothlisberger. "They were able
to answer a lot of the questions that I had."
The
June 10 session was the first of several orientation
sessions to be held throughout the summer. The
WCS Human Resource Department will also host several
training sessions for substitute teachers as well.
