FUNDRAISERS

HUNTERS BEND ELEMENTARY
INVEST IN YOUR CHILD
Starting Friday, September 12,
Hunters Bend Elementary School will begin its Invest in Your
Child campaign. The money from this fundraiser will
help pay for large ticket items like classroom rugs and
school-wide lamination machines. The donations will
also help provide each teacher with classroom money, as well
as pay for the salaries of both the computer teacher and
part-time secretary. Donations will be accepted at the
school. The campaign runs through September 26.
WALNUT GROVE ELEMENTARY
FIELD OF DREAMS
The 2008 Field of Dreams
donation drive kicks off Monday, September 15 at Walnut
Grove Elementary School. The donations from this
fundraising campaign will be used to promote healthy
lifestyles through the construction of a walking track on
campus. A suggested donation of $65 per student is greatly
appreciated, however, any amount, whether more or less, will
help WGES reach its goal of $32,000. For more
information, contact Melissa Arend, donations coordinator,
at
arendm@bellsouth.net.
WINSTEAD ELEMENTARY
WILDCAT WALK
On Friday, September 19,
students at Winstead Elementary School will participate
in the school's fourth annual Wildcat Walk-a-thon.
Leading up to the event, the students will attempt to
collect donations or pledges from relatives, neighbors
and other community members. On the day of the
walk-a-thon, the students complete as many laps around
the track as possible. The money that's raised
will be used to improve school technology through the
purchase of computers and other items.

its own game booth so there will plenty of activities to
