JUMP START A MEDICAL
CAREER

There is good news for
Williamson County students interested in a medical career.
Williamson County Schools is
teaming up with Columbia State Community College to offer a
course that's designed to help students with an interest
in medicine. The medical terminology class will give
students a chance to earn both high school and college
credit. The course will be offered Mondays and
Wednesdays
next semester from 4:00 p.m. to 5:20 p.m. at Franklin High
School.
By enrolling in the medical
terminology course, students will study the language of
allied health sciences and medicine with an emphasis on body
systems, prefixes, suffixes, root terms, pronunciations and
spelling. Students will also earn three hours of
college credit.
Juniors and seniors with at
least a 3.0 GPA and 19 ACT are eligible. Students
should see their high school counselor to learn more about
completing the Columbia State Community College application
and dual enrollment grant application. They can also call
Lois Stone at CSCC at (615) 790-4409. |
