THE STATE OF THE SCHOOLS

 |
Director of Schools Dr. Rebecca Sharber gave her annual
State of Williamson County Schools address to the Williamson
County/Franklin Chamber of Commerce November 27. Those
in attendance included local business owners, county leaders
and school employees.
Dr.
Sharber highlighted many of the wonderful
accomplishments of Williamson County Schools.
|
She noted that 100 percent
of Williamson County teachers are now considered "highly
qualified" according to No Child Left Behind.
Williamson County Schools also scored all A's in
"achievement" and "value added" for the
past two years according to the 2007 State
Report Card.
According
to Dr. Sharber, Williamson County students also tend to
score higher on the ACT Exam than students across the
nation. That's even more impressive considering every
Williamson County student is required to take the ACT Exam.
Dr. Sharber
closed by saying the state of education in Williamson County
is very good, although the school system will continue on
the path toward improvement.
