MICHAEL MCDONALD RAISES THOUSANDS
FOR FHS BAND

The Franklin High School Band will soon have new instruments thanks to the help of a Grammy award-winning recording artist.  On November 1, soul-singer extraordinaire Michael McDonald performed a benefit concert at Lipscomb University to raise money for the Franklin High School Marching Band.

The former Doobie Brother wowed the audience with hits like Takin' it to the Streets and I Keep Forgettin'.  More than 700 people attended the event, helping to raise more than $20,000 for the Franklin band.  In addition to purchasing new instruments, the money will also be used to buy a new PA system.
