ISSUE 19
May 22, 2008
SUMMER BREAK IS HERE!

My, how
time flies! It seems like yesterday we were preparing
for the first day of school, and now here we are. With the
2007-2008 school year coming to a close, it's time for
teachers and students to take a well-deserved break.
But don't worry. While they enjoy some fun in the sun,
IN FOCUS will keep rolling right along,
bringing you all the wonderful stories happening around
Williamson County Schools this summer.
In this
issue, you'll hear the inspirational stories of several
GED GRADUATES as they achieve one of the proudest
moments of their lives. Plus, we'll take you to
Crockett Elementary School where dozens of students recently
learned what it takes to become a
PUBLISHED AUTHOR.
Also in this issue, you'll hear from three Williamson County
teachers who shared the spotlight at this year's
EDUCATION CELEBRATION, and you won't want to miss our
next to last
LUXURY LIMO LUNCH of the school year.
Let's just say one of the principals made this a limo lunch
to remember.
High school
GRADUATION CEREMONIES begin Friday, May 23. We
have a list of all the dates, times and locations.
Plus, information concerning some upcoming changes for
several Williamson County PRINCIPALS. Speaking
of principals, Fairview Middle School Principal Brian Bass
was recently honored with a
SPECIAL AWARD during a
ceremony in Nashville. We'll tell you what that was
all about. And Williamson County Schools has a number
of part-time JOB OPENINGS available. See if
you, or someone you know, might be interested.
Some of the
other stories you'll find in this issue of IN FOCUS
include a local teacher who was recently honored by a
CLOTHING COMPANY, a group of high school students who
are well on their way to a career in the
MEDICAL FIELD
and details surrounding a SUMMER CAMP that's designed
to help ease the transition for students new to Woodland
Middle School.
Don't
forget to check out our
STUDENT SPOTLIGHT section. We have nearly two
dozen new additions. Plus, you'll find plenty of
snapshots from schools across the county in our
PHOTO GALLERY.
Again,
IN FOCUS will continue to bring you stories from
around Williamson County Schools this summer. So keep
telling people to
