SUMMER CONSTRUCTION

Summer break is typically an active time for construction and maintenance in Williamson County schools.  From new classroom additions to roof replacements, crews are staying busy.  This summer, projects will take place at ten Williamson County schools.  They include the completion of secured entrances at Page and Brentwood high schools, construction of a marching band practice area at Franklin High School and the addition of a new library building at Pinewood Elementary School.  Workers are also adding classrooms to schools like Crockett, Trinity, Kenrose and Westwood Elementary Schools ; as well as Fairview High School.

Williamson County Schools Facilities and Construction Director Kevin Fortney says progress is also being made on the new middle school to be located in the southern part of the county.  "The design is complete and we are getting ready to have final reviews by the State Fire Marshal's Office," said Fortney.  "This is also the time of year that major maintenance projects such as painting, floor tile and door replacements take place."
