INTERNET ACCESS SURVEY

A growing
number of Williamson County students are able to surf the
world-wide web from the comfort of their own home.
According to a recent telephone survey, 94 percent of
Williamson County students have the ability to access the
internet from home. That's up three percent from last year.
Williamson
County Schools Instructional Technology Coordinator Belinda
Moss says the information helps the district guide instructional
planning.
"Students with internet access at home are able to use
search engines for homework, online encyclopedias and other
tools," said Moss. "It also allows us to provide
parents with access to student grades online."
Each school
gathers the information from parents and the central office reports it to the
state. In Williamson County, Crockett Elementary
School reported the highest percentage of students with
internet access at 99.6%. The following shows how
Williamson County compares to some of the surrounding school
