Frequently Asked Questions
Parents, you probably have many
questions related to the opening and operation of
Allendale Elementary School.
I will keep a list of those questions and answer
them as I get the answers.
I know that information can make your child’s
transition to our new school more comfortable so I will
make every effort to keep you well informed.
These are some questions that I thought you might have.

Will we have before
and after school care?

Can we have sports
teams that interact with other elementary schools?
Typically elementary sports are organized through
neighborhood recreational associations.
When can we
organize our parent – teacher organization?
We will have our first get acquainted meeting
during the first weeks of February. Time and place are
being confirmed this week. Keep watching the website and
notices from your child’s present school about this
important first meeting.

Can we donate funds
to the new school?
Can we put a place on our school website to make

example I know we will need a few full-size

The process is not re-done if the IEPs have
already been determined by a Williamson County IEP team.
When and where do
you go to register for kindergarten?
Kindergarten registration will be during the week
of March 15. The location will be announced soon.
When will teachers
and staff be hired?
The staffing process has begun.
I will meet and interview teachers who want to
transfer from Chapman’s Retreat and Longview over the
next few weeks.
I hope to have most of the staffing completed by
the end of March.
How many teachers
will there be in each grade?
Currently we anticipate that we will open with 29

How will students
be placed in classes?
I will work with teachers to create well-balanced
classes making sure that students from Longview and
Chapman’s Retreat are blended well.
We are interested
in a strong program for the arts.
Will that be possible at Allendale?
Fine arts are very important in the development
of well-rounded, talented children.
I don’t know what form arts education will take
beyond the specials classes, but I am interested in
discussing with staff, parents, and students what that
