Prerequisite: Art II
Students are
expected to use a variety of techniques, materials, and concepts
to explore personal and aesthetic growth. Emphasis is placed on
drawing from observation, originality, visual discrimination,
critiquing, and the role of art history. First semester,
students concentrate on the areas of drawing and the application
of color and design principles.
Second
semester students explore aspects of 3-Dimensional design and
printmaking, and will also develop a series of original works
which explore and develop a theme or concept.
Art III Honors also works as a
preliminary course for Studio Art AP to develop maturity of
artwork. Students should have at least a B average in Art II.
