The Journalism curriculum for newspaper requires the
production of seven issues of the school newspaper, The
Voice. Computer skills are essential for researching
articles and making charts, as needed. Students must be highly
motivated, creative, have an interest in both the issues of
school life and photography.
Students will be expected to learn graphic design using Quark
Xpress, to sell advertising, and to edit copy. Articles will
reflect research and the most recent news on breaking issues
through webquests. They will organize ad sales and finalize
completed pages on the computer, and set up and meet publication
deadlines. Photography interest/proficiency is also important.
Two credits may be earned in Journalism.
