The assessment and reporting of student progress to parents is an important component of establishing effective home/school relations. Parents can use our web site www.wcs.edu/bms to get valuable information about our school. Progress reports will be sent home with students at the halfway part of the reporting period. Teachers will also set up group e-mail with parents who are interested and will hear from teachers with a weekly note. Report cards form the foundation upon which this two-way communication is built. In middle schools formal reports are sent home at the end of each nine-week grading period. The grading system employed by both of these reports is as follows:
If homework is assigned, it will be graded. Not doing homework is an academic issue. Parents, guidance, and administration will be notified for the first 2 occurrences of missed homework; then administration will intervene. |
