The Guidance Department at Brentwood Middle School maintains a
comprehensive guidance program meeting the developmental needs
of students in grades six through eight.
The school counselors plan and coordinate activities that
promote academic, social, and emotional growth among the
students at Brentwood Middle. This year the counselors are
working in conjunction with the Related Arts team to encourage
students to refine character-building traits such as respect,
responsibility, honesty, perseverance, citizenship, caring,
courage, trustworthiness, cooperation, and fairness. In
addition, the counselors guide students through grade transition
and career education activities.
The counselors also help coordinate programs such as peer
mediation, peer and parent volunteer tutoring, orientation for
new students, parenting workshops and parent networking, and
testing and screening for academic placement. They offer
one-to-one, small, and classroom group guidance sessions for
students as needed.
To contact your student’s counselor,
you can call the Guidance Department at 472-4258 or email one of
the guidance counselors.
