ADMINISTRATIVE EMPLOYEE APPLICATION

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS 

Principal and Assistant Principal applicants must have at least 3 years teaching experience in schools (any professional personnel including librarians, guidance counselors, psychologists, etc.) and principals at least a minimum of 1 year of administrative experience in order to be considered eligible for vacant administrative positions. Eligibility for all the administrative positions will require a minimum of a master’s degree with certification in Tennessee and hold a Beginning Administrator License or a Professional Administrator License.

Applicant's Agreement: 

  1. I hereby certify that, if my previous employer was another Tennessee Public School system and if any termination was voluntary, my resignation was, or will be submitted at least 30 days prior to the first day of employment with Williamson County Schools; or, if within 30 days, that the previous board has waived its right to such notice. A copy of my letter of resignation or the said board action is attached or will be provided.

  2. I understand that no employee shall unlawfully manufacture, distribute, dispense, possess or use on or in the workplace, any narcotic drug, hallucinogenic drug, amphetamine, barbiturate, marijuana, alcohol, or any other controlled substance, as defined in federal law. “Workplace” shall include any school building or property, any school-owned or school-leased vehicle used to transport students to and from school activities; off school property during any school-sponsored or school-approved activity.  I understand that as a condition of employment, I will notify my supervisor of my conviction of any criminal drug statute for violation occurring in a workplace, as defined above, no later than five (5) days after conviction. I understand that if I violate the terms of this policy, I will be suspended , and I am subject to dismissal.

  3. I understand that all employees who are required to drive any school-owned or school-leased vehicle during the performance of their duties are prohibited from using, possessing, distributing, dispensing, manufacturing, or having controlled substances, abused prescription drugs or any other mind altering or intoxicating substances present in their system while at work or on duty. I understand that if I violate this provision of the policy, I shall be subject to discharge.

  4. I understand that all employees who are required to drive any school-owned or school-leased vehicle during the performance of their duties shall be tested for specific substances in the following order: pre-employment; reasonable cause situations; randomly; post-accident; and re-certification. I understand that if I fail to report an accident or submit to substance screening where required by law or this policy, I shall be subject to discharge.
