Substitute Teacher
Application Letter
Please read the
announcement for important information before applying.
ANNOUNCEMENT
Dear Applicant,
Your interest in substitute teaching for Williamson County Schools is
greatly appreciated. You can
be considered for Substitute Teacher by simply applying online. We do
not require anything else until we are able to hire you.
Below is information that should answer most of your questions.
You may feel free to contact Sam White at
samw@wcs.edu
if you have any other questions.
Educational Requirement: We
only require a High School Diploma or GED to be a Substitute Teacher,
although we pay a greater salary for those with undergraduate credits
and degrees.
Background Checks: We will
not ask for fingerprints or background checks until after we hire you.
It will cost $48, but we can initiate a refund after working 10
days. You must request the
refund by emailing Sam White at
samw@wcs.edu.
Training: A new hire
orientation class is required for all applicants.
Those applicants
without
Student Teaching, a current or expired teaching
license, or a Master’s in Education will be required to attend an
extended new hire orientation class that will include Substitute Teacher
training.
We have orientation classes all year round on a needs
basis, but due to limited class sizes, they are invitation only.
We will email an invitation to you with details of the
orientation class when we have a space for you in one of the orientation
classes. A RSVP to the email
invitation is required for attendance to the orientation classes.
Also, the orientation classes are planned several weeks in
advance, so do not expect an immediate contact other than the
confirmation that your application has been submitted.
Sincerely,
Sam White
