TEACHER APPLICATION LETTER

Dear Applicant:

Thank you for your interest in a teaching position with the Williamson County School District.  In order to be considered for vacancies, applicants must complete the online teacher application and complete the online Gallup TeacherInsight Assessment Interview.  A valid Tennessee teacher’s license is a requirement for employment in Williamson County. Along with the license, applicants must also provide documentation on how they are highly qualified to teach the grade level or subject area indicated on the license. Applicants seeking an alternative type license must meet eligibility requirements for an alternative certification program. Once you have completed the teacher application, click the submit button at the bottom of the page and this will take you to the Gallup TeacherInsight Assessment interview site. Once you have finished the application and interview, you should receive a thank you confirmation. Below you will find a list of required documents that must be provided to Williamson County School District to complete your file.

Please attach the documents below by selecting the “BROWSE” button when completing the application. If you are unable to submit documents, then mail all documents together and send to the address at the end of this letter. The two documents that must be submitted at this time are the teacher application and the Gallup TeacherInsight interview.

1)     Valid Tennessee Teacher’s License. If the license has not been issued, please submit it once you have received the license from the state department.

2)     Out of State Applicants. Provide a copy of the packet that you are submitting to the Department of Teacher Licensing to apply for your Tennessee Teacher’s License. Please include in this packet, if necessary, a copy of verification form(s) that reflects all teaching experiences.

3)     Copy of all praxis tests. This is required for full licensure in Tennessee. If you are coming in from out of state, you may not need to take additional tests. However you will need to check with the Department of Teacher Licensing at (615)-532-4885 or email Sandy Willis at Sandy.Willis@state.tn.us for guidance.

4)     HQ/No Child Left Behind Documentation. All applicants must provide documentation showing how you are highly qualified under the NCLB Federal Guidelines for areas that you are endorsed to teach and you are applying for in our district. Out of State Applicants we will accept a letter from your school district stating that under the Federal Guidelines of the No Child Left Behind you are highly qualified to teach.  This letter should indicate grade levels for elementary and subject areas for 7-12.

5)     New Tennessee Graduates. If you will be graduating in mid year or during the summer, you must provide a letter from your university which includes your expected date of graduation and a statement that all course work has been completed.

6)     Official transcripts from all colleges and universities. If you will be graduating in mid year or during the summer, go ahead and attach a copy of all transcripts. After graduation, submit the official transcripts conferring your degree.

7)     Alternative Type License.
