Recovery or Promotion interventions.

extended learning time for passing a course.
3.Priority for Enrollment:
Enrollment in this program will be first based on the highest grade level of a
school. (i.e. seniors, juniors, sophomores, freshmen)
When will the credit recovery interventions be offered?
Interventions will be
offered before and/or after school, on Saturday, and during summer months.
Availability of CR hours will vary by school. Check with your school
administration or counselors for current availability.
Williamson County Schools will be using Plato Software as the
technology intervention component of the Credit Recovery Program.
What strategies will be used to Recover credit or Extend learning for
promotion?
1.Digital Curriculum (PLATO)
technology will be utilized for both instructional delivery and student
management.
2.Digital Curriculum will
emphasize individualized, self-paced, and self-directed learning strategies.
3.Repeated courses will be ‘fast-tracked’
so that learning objectives not accomplished in the regular course will be the
emphasis.
4.Extended learning time will be
used in a way that develops skills that had previously not been mastered.
5.Credit Recovery interventions
will be based on previous student learning and the need for additional
skill development.
6.Students will rotate in
and out of the program based on completion of their contract.
7.Students will show adequate
progress by attending the required number of hours as suggested by
diagnostic testing.
8.Completion of the student
notebook, mastery testing at the 80% level, and any other contract requirements.
9.PLATO comprehensive and
research- based software will be used in conjunction with and aligned with
Williamson County, Tennessee, and national standards for skill development.
What will be required of Students enrolled in this Program?
1.Student Notebook: Students will
be required to keep notes, progress reports, and printouts of successful mastery
test completion.
2.Only three (3) attempts will be
allowed for all Mastery Tests.
3.No help will be given on Mastery
Tests.
4.Staff will ask to see
student’s notes prior to helping with tutorials.
5.Students will use the PLATO
software appropriately.
Students will not
be able to use Credit Recovery to accelerate classes and/or graduate early.
For Details, Contact Your School’s Administration or Guidance
Department.
