German
III Honors focuses on vocabulary and advanced
grammar acquisition through reading literature and
writing. Students will also continue to develop
oral discussion skills. This is an accelerated
class appropriate for the highly motivated language
learner. A priority is placed upon more immersion
in the target language.

German IV Honors seeks to
refine and enhance the four basic skills of world
language learning. It broadens vocabulary,
increases written and oral fluency, deepens the
knowledge of the mechanics of German through the
study of literature pieces and German history, and
expands cultural knowledge of the German-speaking
world.
Spanish I

Spanish I
students are introduced to the basic skills of world
languages with emphasis on vocabulary development
and grammatical principles of the written and spoken
language. Cultural aspects of the Spanish-speaking
world are presented with the vocabulary and grammar
study.
Spanish II

Spanish
II places emphasis on verb tenses while further
developing vocabulary and grammar through more
complex reading, listening, writing, and oral
communication skills. Students continue to learn
about the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries.
Increasing emphasis is placed upon the use of
Spanish in the classroom.

conversation.

conversational skills, while broadening vocabulary
and grammatical structures.

IV Honors seeks to refine and enhance concepts,
including grammar techniques, conversational skills,
reading and listening comprehension, and studies of
various aspects of Spanish culture. Vocabulary is

and an emphasis is placed upon the study of a
variety of Spanish literature.

AP is designed for students who have mastered
advanced Spanish grammar and have demonstrated a
commitment to academic excellence in the study of
the Spanish language. Students will work in each of
the four skills involved in world language
learning: reading, writing, listening, and
speaking. Students will work through materials
designed specifically for AP exam practice and
preparation.
AP Spanish
Literature

AP
Spanish Literature is a college level course where
students study Spanish and Latin American literature
from various genres. Students read, discuss, and
analyze all texts in Spanish. Special emphasis is
placed on preparing students for the College Board
AP Spanish Language test administered in May.
