Wellness and P.E.

Two (2) credits of JROTC may substitute for the Lifetime Wellness graduation requirement and three (3) credits of JROTC may substitute for American Government. Only three credits of physical education including Lifetime Wellness may be earned in four years.

Lifetime Wellness
Grade Level: 9^th
Credit: 1 (full-year)
Required for graduation or 2 years JROTC
Lifetime Wellness is a course in which the students receive basic instruction in personal fitness and related activities, nutrition, mental health, disease prevention and control, substance use and abuse, sexuality and family life, safety and first aid, and wellness training for a lifetime.

Physical Education II
Grade: 10^th, 11^th, & 12^th
Credit: 1 (full-year)
Successful completion of Lifetime Wellness
This course is designed to develop a student’s level of proficiency in a specific individual or dual sport and team sports. Total fitness will also be developed through non-competitive educational gymnastic activities including aerobic and anaerobic activities.

Weights & Kinesiology
Grade: 10^th – 12^th
Credit: 1 (full-year)
Successful completion of Lifetime Wellness
This course is designed to enhance physical fitness of students through agilities, running, and weights.
