Fast Facts

Kindergarten and first grade may check-out
1 book at a time.
|
Second and third grades may check-out 2
books at a time.
|
Fourth and fifth grades may check-out 2
books + 1 book for projects.
|
Kindergarten and first grade books are
checked-out for one week.
|
Second through fifth grade books are
checked-out for two weeks.

Philosophy
|
Chapman's Retreat Library materials and
resources support the curriculum and encourage the love of
reading. Resources are in the form of print, non-print and
electronic materials. |
Library Procedures
|
Each class has a scheduled time to return
books and select new ones. Individual students may come to
exchange books each day with teacher permission. Teachers may
schedule flexible time slots for classroom research assignments. |
Overdue Books
|
There are no fines for overdue books;
however, checkout privileges are denied until overdue books are
returned. |
Damaged Books
|
Please return damaged books to the library
for repair. Accidents happen. A damage bill with replacement
costs will be sent home. Should a page accidentally rip, please
make us aware and we will repair the page with special tape. |
Lost Books
|
Books that have not surfaced in 30 days are
presumed to be lost. An overdue bill with the replacement cost
will be sent home. |

school library's staff and collection is the best single predicator of
