Chapman’s Retreat has
1 full-time counselor (2nd-5th grades) and one
part-time counselor (k and 1st grades) to serve our students.
They lead classroom discussions on topics such as self-esteem, character
building, self-control, decision-making, and conflict management.
Counselors are also available for support to individual students and
families and lead small group sessions on topics such as family changes
and friendship skills.
Character under Construction
The school counseling program for
2007-2008 will be based on
character education. Character Education is to
supplement the home
environment and encourage virtues needed to live
successfully as a
member of a family, school, and community. Classroom
guidance lessons
will include one character trait each month. Please
encourage your child to
practice these good character traits at home. PRAISE
good character
changes that your child makes as he or she matures!

A Quote to Remember…
Children develop character by what they
see, by what
they hear, and by what they are
repeatedly led to
do.
