Areas in which you can volunteer

At Chapman’s Retreat Elementary School!

 

Lead Room Parent -- works closely with the classroom teacher and room parent helpers on various classroom/school activities throughout the school year.  First main responsibility is to pick and help gather classroom donations for the class Silent Auction basket.  Other responsibilities will be covered at the Room Parent Mtg. on Aug. 26, 2009 at 10 am at Thompson Station Church in “the Venue.”

 

Room Parent Helpers -- helps the lead room parent with activities throughout the school year.  More info. will be available at the Room Parent Mtg. (see above)

 

Kindergarten Helper -- we need parents of 1st – 5th grade students ONLY to help assist Kindergarteners the first week or two in adjusting to school.  This will consist of helping them to their classroom, getting them unpacked and settled in their class and/or helping them at lunch time with getting used to the lunchroom.

 

Literacy Committee -- helping out with shelving books in the library, working at the book fair and/or working with small groups of advanced readers (training provided). 

 

Art -- helping the art teacher, Mrs. Hawks, in the art room and displaying the students’ artwork throughout the school.

 

Work Room – Run copies, laminate, cut, etc.  Training provided.  No children are allowed in the workroom.

 

PTO help with Cheetah Fest, Landscaping, Community Relations, Spring Fling, Yearbook, etc.
