Subject: Class Basket for CheetahFest Silent Auction

Dear Parents,

As some of you may know, each year Chapman’s Retreat holds our biggest fundraising event in the fall.  It is called CheetahFest and it consists of food, games and a silent auction. This year, CheetahFest will be held on Friday, September 21, 2007.   As a part of the silent auction, each individual class is asked to donate a themed basket to be auctioned off to the highest bidder.  This year, our basket theme is ____________________________________________.

This letter is a request for your help with our class basket donation.  In the past, parents have been asked to either

·         donate items that can go with the theme of the basket or

·         give a monetary donation to be used in the purchasing of items for the basket.

Please consider which way you would rather help with this.

When making your decision to help, please keep in mind that anything that you give towards this basket will help out all of our children here at Chapman’s Retreat Elementary.  Last year, the silent auction of CheetahFest brought in over $10,000 which helped purchase library books, new technology pieces to be used in the individual classrooms as well as basic necessities such as paper and ink for the school printers.

If you have something specific in mind to give towards the basket, please give me a call to let me know what the item or items are, so we will not get duplicates of something.  Also, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.  My phone number is ___________________________ and my e-mail is ____________________________________.

Please send any items or monetary donations to the school with your child and give to our teacher no later than Wednesday, September 12, 2007.  Please make sure that all donations are clearly marked for our class basket by writing

·         your child’s full name on it,

·         our teacher’s name and grade on it and

·         my name on it.

This will ensure it’s delivery to the right classroom.  As our teacher receives them, it will be forwarded on to me.  Thank you so much for helping out with this request.  I am excited to see what our class can put together for the Silent Auction basket!

Sincerely,
