The Facilities and Construction Department is primarily responsible for the Capital Improvement Building Program and the use of the facilities by schools and community organizations.  Included in those responsibilities are the following activities: 

  • Budgeting of all capital improvements (new buildings, additions and renovations)  
  • Coordinating architectural design, engineering and construction of all new school buildings and additions.
  • Evaluating new site locations,
  • Coordinating environmental issues,
  • Scheduling construction projects,
  • Managing construction projects,
  • Administering contracts and warranties, 
  • Scheduling the use of school facilities by community organizations which enhance the cultural, educational and recreational opportunities in the community
