School History
In the beginning, our school was a private school. Later, it became a school serving grades 1-12. In September 1975, we became College Grove Elementary School serving grades K-6. With the opening of Page Middle School in 1981, our school then served students in grades K-5. In 1993, we proudly opened the doors of our new building on Arno Road. In the Fall of 1997, we were one of four elementary schools to open a Pre-K program. During the Winter of '99, our school became a 21st Century School.

Before/After School Care
We have an Aftercare program that is sponsored by the Franklin YMCA. It provides parents with child care after normal school hours. Our program opens at 6:30 a.m. for all students and again at 11:15 daily for our Pre-K students. It remains open until 6:00 p.m. each evening. The YMCA program is also available to our families during most school holidays and in the summer.

Parent Support Organization
Jeanne Rice is the president of our PTO. This year the PTO and College Grove School are sponsoring a one-time fundraiser, "READERS ROCK THE SCHOOL" READ-A-THON.

Special Programs
Williamson County Extension Agency offers 4-H to our fourth and fifth grade students on a monthly basis.

Library/Media Center
One of the main programs that we focus on in our media center is the Reading Renaissance Program. At this time, we have six computer terminals in our media center. We have over 10,000 books, videos, cassettes, etc. Each year we strive to purchase additional books for our Reading Renaissance program.

Academics
We have several unique academic programs at our school. Those include Reading Renaissance, Shurley Method, Saxon Math, Quantum Learning, Developmental Practices, and Curriculum Alignment.

Guidance
Our guidance counselor is a .5 position. Other counseling is available if needed through Williamson County Family Center in Franklin.

Special Education Services
Currently we have one full time and seven full time special education assistants.

Fine Arts
Parent/teacher conferences are held twice yearly. The first conference is held during the Fall and the second conference is held during the Spring.
