School
History
Hillsboro School celebrated its 100th birthday in 1991. It began as a
private school in the Leiper's Fork community and was purchased by the
Williamson County Board of Education in 1905. The school continued at
the same campus until a lightening strike in 1930 burned the original
buildings. In 1933 Williamson County Board of Education rebuilt the
facility. Hillsboro's enrollment increased to 550 students in 1976 with
the consolidation of Burwood and Evergreen Schools. In 1979 high school
students were dispersed to Franklin and Fairview High Schools. A new
four million dollar facility was built in 1981.
Community
The Hillsboro/Leiper's Fork community is a picturesque rural village. It
has a diverse population of country music celebrities, landowners,
businessmen and women, farmers and homemakers.

YMCA Fun Company provides before and after school care for students.

Conferences
Conferences are held each semester. Parent/teacher communication is
encouraged at all times.
Parent Support
Organization
The Parent Teacher Organization meets monthly to plan and expedite
fundraisers , teacher support, and student enrichment. The Booster Club
promotes and supports game concessions.

Center
The library media center is the hub of the school. Its collection of
over 7,000 books also includes computers, multimedia CD's, a magazine
database, Accelerated Reader, S.T.A.R., Internet access, on-line
encyclopedias, periodicals, and local newspapers.
Academics
Hillsboro is an arts focused school that incorporates art, music, and
drama into all academic areas. Its motto is "Academic Excellence Through
the Arts."
Tutoring
Tutoring is available regularly for Middle School students and for
elementary students on a need basis
Guidance
A full time guidance counselor emphasizes life skills, study skills, and
decision making processes.

STARS
Students Taking a Right Stand program compliments guidance skills with
peer mediation, discussion groups, and special community-centered
projects.
Fine Arts
Hillsboro provides a full service gymnasium including six basketball
goals. Boys and girls locker rooms with shower facilities are available.
Instruction includes rhythms (tinkling, lummi sticks, multicultural
folk, line and social dancing),skating, table tennis, badminton,
bowling, golf and tennis, jump roping, and volleyball.
