School History
Longview Elementary School is a public, suburban elementary school
located in the beautiful farm land of Spring Hill, Tennessee. The
school is one of the newest elementary schools in the Williamson County
School System and was completed for the beginning of the 2007-2008
school year. The purpose of our school is to involve students in
meaningful learning experiences that develop individuals who are
empowered to succeed in an innovative, constantly changing, and
information-based society. The Longview Team includes administrators,
teachers, professional support personnel, teacher assistants, office
personnel, cafeteria staff, and custodial staff. We have a great
team here at Longview!
Before/After School Care
We have School Age Child Care (SACC) which provides Longview with this
service. For more information please contact Nancy Rogers at
472-5079.

Parent/Teacher Conferences
Parents receive progress reports during each nine weeks grading period
with Report Cards issued at the end of the nine weeks. Parent/teacher
conferences are scheduled by each grade level during each semester of
the school year and additional times as individual conferences are
needed. Ongoing parent-teacher communications is encouraged.
Parent Support Organization
Longview has a parent support group which is called The Link. This
group is still evolving and has already proven to be an asset to
Longview through fundraising and community involvement.
Library/Media Center
Our library collection is over 11,000 items and serves a rapidly
increasing student population of pre-kindergarten through fifth grade.
Excellent and enthusiastic parent volunteers help our librarian and
library assistant keep the many services to our students and teachers
available. Some of our services include: the bi-annual book fair,
ordering, processing, and cataloging materials to support the school
curriculum, Internet access and connection to encyclopedias and other
reference sites via the Internet, and the Accelerated Reader
computerized reading program for all grades.
Academics
We have several unique academic programs at our school. Those include
Reading Renaissance, Developmental Practices, Horizontal & Vertical
Curriculum Alignment, Mountain Math, Mountain Language, and Every Day
Math.
Guidance
Longview has one full-time guidance counselor and one part-time
counselor who serve as both child advocates and leaders of a
comprehensive development program that serves all students. The
counselor works with individuals, small groups, and entire classrooms
serving the needs of all students.
Special Education Services
Currently, Longview has two full time special education teachers and
five full time teacher's assistants.
Fine
Arts
Longview is proud to offer Physical Education, Music, Art, and Library
to all students.
