School History
In June, 1953, Bob Mosley, a member of the Williamson County Board of Education made a motion to ask for sufficient funds "to build a modern elementary school with six classrooms somewhere between Green's Chapel and Lampley's Store on the Pinewood Road. The motion was seconded and carried. On July 20, 1953, the Board authorized the purchase of the land and proceeded with the construction of the new school on Pinewood Road. At this time in rural west Williamson County, one and two room school buildings were a common sight. The construction of this building with six classrooms was considered a "modern building". Pinewood Heights Elementary is a school that values the family atmosphere that presides here. As soon as you enter the 50+ year old building, walk on the hard wood floors, and look up at the hard wood ceilings you will notice that Pinewood represents a school dedicated to its community and educating its youth. All the teachers and staff know each child by name. Pinewood has a very dedicated staff that loves each child and thinks of them as their own. Learning occurs readily at Pinewood because the whole community is involved.

Parent/Teacher Conferences
In order to meet with parents on a more regular basis, the teachers at Pinewood have decided to have flexible days for conferencing, after school hours along with using the designated day(s) in the county / school calendar. This has been designed to better meet the communication needs at Pinewood. Teachers can spend more time conferencing with parents and meeting individual needs.

Parent Support Organization
Our Boosters Club officers and members work hard at Pinewood volunteering, some serve as substitute teachers, most work at fund raising, etc. They host the following fundraisers and all funds raised are spent to further the education of all the students: Dragon Run, Dragon Fest and T-Shirt sales.

Vice-President: Mary Palmore
Treasurer: Allison Moore

Site Based Management
Pinewood is a site-based school in which all educators participate in the decision making process. Building level decisions are made in the best interest of the student population but within the parameters of best practices as prescribed at the county level.
