CALLING ALL ECO-EXPLORERS: LET THE ADVENTURE
BEGIN!
We are so excited about our new look in the
library. Our goal was to create an inviting atmosphere that inspires
learning, creativity and a lifelong love of reading. Through the amazing
work of muralist from Masterpiece Murals, we achieved this goal.
Visitors to the library will be carried away to the rainforests of South
America, take a trip to the sandy deserts of Africa, dive deep into the
Coral Reef and much more.
LIBRARY MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the library media program is to ensure that all members
of our school community have equal access to our print and non-print
materials, develop a lifelong love of reading, and become effective
users of information and technology.

WE LOVE OUR PARENT VOLUNTEERS
We are so blessed and grateful to have a wonderful
group of parent volunteers who work in the library. We maintain a
collection of over 19,000 items and manage an average daily circulation
of aproximately 300 books. These are exciting statistics that bring
special challenges. It is a huge task to keep our books shelved and
orderly. We could not do this without the help of our dedicated parent
volunteers. If you would like to become a part of this special group
please contact the PTO Parent Volunteer Coordinator or give us a call at
472-4364. We would love to have you.
We would like to say a special "Thank You" to
MICHELLE LASLEY for being our Parent Volunteer Coordinator this year!
She did an amazing job and we very much appreciate all her efforts.

STUDENT CIRCULATION PROCEDURES
Students may check out the following number of books per grade level:
Kindergarten - one book, First and Second - two books, Third through
Fifth - three books. A student may exchange one or all books per visit.
Books can be renewed one time with the exception of chapter books or
project related materials. Books are due within two weeks if not

OPEN CIRCULATION SCHEDULE
Students are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to check
out books every day. Our library offers the following times for open
circulation: 8:00-8:25, 12:00-12:30 and 2:30-3:00. Parents are also
invited to come and check out books from our collection during these
times.

BE A MEMBER OF THE BIRTHDAY BOOK
CLUB
Your child's birthday is a very special occasion here at Edmondson.
Therefore, we invite you to honor your child's birthday by donating a
book to our library in their name. By doing this, you can help teach
your child the value of giving as well as enrich the library at the same
time. If you would like to participate, forms are available on the
Parent Information Table.
