statistics about the country you're studying, as

World Encyclopedia
Designed
to eliminate conflict by promoting cultural
awareness, this site will help you find
information about the economy, government,
defense, geography and people of any country.
Each country's entry also includes a link to a
current news source for that location.
How
Far Is It?
This
service uses the University of Michigan
Geographic Name Server and a supplementary
database of world cities to find the latitude and
longitude of two places, and then calculates the
distance between them (as the crow flies). It
also provides a map showing the two places. Very
cool!
Visit

This
page from the National Parks Service's website
allows you to select a state from a map of the U.S.
and click on it to find out what parks are
located there. Navigation buttons at the bottom
of the page will connect you to the Park
Service's homepage where you'll find other

and art, music, literature, daily life, and
culture. You might find these long lists a bit

not be that easy for 6th graders to understand,

a little about each one to give you an idea
whether or not it's what you are looking for.
