The staff at Fairview Elementary School welcomes you and invites you to participate in the education of your child.  We believe that you are your child’s first and most influential teacher, and that your involvement is a key factor in your child's success at school.  At FES, we encourage your involvement and value your partnership with our school as we work to provide your child with challenging, exciting, and engaging learning opportunities.

You can support your child’s education both at home and at school.  At home, you can:

• Model a good attitude toward school and learning
• Read with your child
• Offer encouragement
• Set a positive tone for the day with morning routines
• Get your child to school on time
• Oversee daily homework assignments
• Teach responsibility and respect for others.

At school, you can:

• Support your child’s teacher
• Attend conferences with your child’s teacher
• Get involved with our Parent Teacher Organization
• Volunteer to help your child’s teacher
• Volunteer to help in the library or  cafeteria
• Read to a child, or listen to a child read
• Share your hobbies, career, or expertise with a class
• Ask any staff member where they need help and fill that need!

At FES, we are committed to the growth of EVERY child, and we will work very hard to make sure your child has a positive and rewarding learning experience.  Please communicate often with your child's teacher, and ask your child every day to tell you something about his/her day at school.  Also, please feel free to contact me any time with questions, concerns, or suggestions.  I welcome your input into our learning community and am looking forward to a terrific year.
