Reading Recovery is an early intervention program for first grade students.

We provide one-on-one help so that each student becomes a successful reader and writer. The goal is to have all students on grade level or above by the end of the year!

Phone them at: 472-4380 Mrs. Florrie and Mrs. Kee: Ext.4945

Ms. Hoover: Ext. 4916

What we will be working on for the next few weeks:
  • High frequency words, reading and spelling
  • The importance of pictures
  • Letter sounds
  • Making sense of what we read
  • Fixing mistakes, if needed

HOMEWORK

Boys and girls, remember to read your books each night, put them back in your book bag, put the book bag in your backpack and return everything to school the next day.

Parents, please sit with your child while he/she is reading, help only if needed, then sign the daily log and return the books in the book bag. THANKS so much for the wonderful help you give!

REMEMBER

I promise to read
Each day and each night.
I know it's a key
To growing up right!

Fall-2007

Dear Parents,

We are exited about another wonderful school year of teaching children to read. This life- long skill is so important to the future of the child that we are honored to play a part in his/her reading development. Lots of help will be available for those needing it and we look forward to working with our students and parents as we explore the wonderful world available to us in books. Reading is great fun and we'll have fun learning to be good readers together.

See you soon in Rooms 145 and 116.
