Journey North Fairview Elementary third graders were visited by Mrs. Macy McCullough from Iris City Gardens in Fairview. Mrs. McCullough explained different forms of bulbs in anticipation of the students planting their Journey North Red Emperor Tulips. She lended her professional expertise in planting. She also donated Dutch Iris bulbs to plant with the tulips. Iris City Gardens generously donated labeled plant stakes with every student's name to mark their own bulb for the experiment. Journey North is an international experiment. Students will observe the tulips in the spring and report electronically when they sprout and bloom. Spring can be mapped moving north! It is Fairview Elementary's first time to participate in the tulip project. Students are very excited to collaborate with students in other states and countries. The third grade teachers and students would like to publicly thank Iris City Gardens and Mr. and Mrs. McCullough for their help and support. Scroll down for the spring pictures |
