Living Wax Museum

The students in Ms. Stephanie Giudicy’s fourth grade class presented many different explorers, Indians, and other famous historians in a Living Wax Museum.  Students were asked to read about Tennesseans, Indians, and other important figures in history.  After reading and discussing these figures, the students were to choose one person and research him/her more in depth.  The students were expected to write a 4 paragraph essay on this individual’s significance and contribution to society. Then on Friday, April 13, students were able to take our visitors on a field trip through various time periods.  Our visitors were able to meet fourth graders dressed as Daniel Boone, Andrew Jackson, James K. Polk, Sequoyah, Davy Crockett, Nancy Ward, Cordell Hull, Cornelia Fort, Lewis and Clark, John Sevier, William Blount, Clarence Saunders, Ann Dudley, Casey Jones, Wilma Rudolph, Jack Massey, Robert Church, Richard Henry Boyd, James Napier, Alvin York, Joseph Brown, Sam Houston, George W. Bush, Phil Bredesen, and Bill Frist. Visitors gently pressed the button on the figure’s hand, and they were able to hear his/her major contribution to society. The students did an amazing job, as did Ms. Ashlie Erie, our student teacher.
